Apoorva Mukhija and Samay Raina react to India’s Got Latent controversy with hilarious parody, latter says "Jana pad gaya tha na Assam, Gujarat"

Samay Raina and Apoorva Mukhija reunite in a hilariously offbeat ad for Deconstruct, styled as a parody podcast. The duo’s bold humour and sharp timing bring a fresh twist to influencer-led content.

Apoorva Mukhija and Samay Raina talk about India Got Latent

Comedian Samay Raina and influencer Apoorva Mukhija have teamed up once again — and their latest collaboration is just as eccentric as fans would expect.

The duo, who previously stirred conversation (and controversy) with their appearance on the talk show India’s Got Latent, are now back in the spotlight, this time in a tongue-in-cheek ad for the skincare brand Deconstruct.

Set in a parody podcast format that mimics the current wave of influencer-led content, the ad opens with Samay greeting Apoorva in his usual deadpan manner: “Welcome to the podcast.” What follows is a characteristically bold and irreverent exchange that sets the tone for the rest of the spot.

Without missing a beat, Samay launches into a risqué line: “Yaar humare last meeting ke baad mujhe toh STD hi ho gaya tha [Dude, after our last meeting, I ended up getting an STD]” to which Apoorva swiftly replies, “PTSD hota hai woh [It's PTSD]" Samay, smirking, doubles down with, “Nahi nahi, mujhe STD hi hua tha – Sun Transmitted Disease [No No, I got STD - Sun Transmitted Disease]"

From there, the sketch takes a hilariously absurd turn as Samay weaves a backstory involving extensive travel: “Woh jana pad gaya tha na Assam, Gujarat – skin damage ho gayi thi [I had to go to Assam and Gujarat – my skin got damaged]” This leads smoothly into the introduction of the skincare product, embedded seamlessly into the humour rather than interrupting it.

Apoorva, staying firmly in character, dryly reminds him, “I came here for a podcast,” prompting Samay to respond, “Podcast karte hain [Let's do Podcast]” while continuing his over-the-top endorsement.

Packed with pop culture references and light jabs at prominent influencers like Ranveer Allahbadia and Raj Shamani, the ad manages to mock while staying relatable. It even touches on dramatic life events — court cases, moving out — all in jest.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Viewers applauded the duo’s chemistry and wit, flooding the comments with lines like, “Best GRWM ever in the market” and “Supreme leader take a bow. Kill kardia dono ne.”

Apoorva recently addressed the India’s Got Latent fallout, stating, “I’m really happy that it happened to me… the internet is not your reality.” Meanwhile, Samay is preparing for his highly anticipated comedy tour Alive And Unfiltered, which kicks off on 15 August and has already sold 40,000 tickets in its first hour.
