Pakistani actor Fawad Khan received backlash over his controversial post about India’s Operation Sindoor against terrorist centres in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The actor received huge backlash from his fans in India. However, television actress Rupali Ganguly has also chimed in to call out the actor for his comments on India’s strikes against terrorists in PoK.

Rupali took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared a news snippet of Fawad’s comments on the Indian army’s Operation Sindoor. Alongside the snippet, the TV actress wrote, “You working in Indian films was also 'shameful' for us. #OperationSindoor #IndianArmy #IndianAirForce.”

For the unversed, Fawad Khan condemned India’s Operation Sindoor, calling it a “shameful attack" in his tweet on Wednesday.

He wrote, “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come.”

Fawad added, “A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!"

Following Fawad’s tweet, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also strongly condemned their ‘anti-India’ statements.

Fawad Khan was notably gearing up for his Bollywood comeback with his upcoming romantic drama, Abir Gulaal, alongside Vaani Kapoor. The upcoming film is said to revolve around two wounded souls, brought together by chance, who find solace in each other's company and gradually develop a profound connection that blossoms into love.

Directed by Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Vivek Agrawal, the film faced a ban following the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.
