The makers of Amaran have made a slight change to a scene which actually displayed the mobile phone of a student and he filed a defamation case od Rs 1.1 crore.
The scene in question is where Sai Pallavi's character Indhu shares her phone number with Sivakarthikeyan's character and audience thought it was the original phone number of the actress.
It was actually a phone number of a young college student and he received thousands of calls after his number was displayed without his consent.
This led to the student filing a case against the makers and he demanded Rs 1.1 crore as compensation.
The case is still in the court but the makers of and Sai Pllavi's Amaran have now modified the scene by blurring the phone number upon its release on OTT platforms.
College student Vaageesan from Chennai in his complaint said he had received over 4,000 calls from Sai Pallavi's fans who mistook his number for actress' original phone number.
Vageesan filed a case against the producers demanding Rs 1.1 crore in compensation.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran is a biopic on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan.
The film is based on an excerpt from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes.
While Sivakarthikeyan played the role of Major Mukund Varadarajan, Sai Pallavi was seen as his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, Lallu, Shreekumar, Geetha Kailasam and Umair Iban Lateef also played pivotal roles in the film.
The film was jointly produced by Raaj Kamal International and Sony Pictures Films India. It released in theatres on October 31 and started streaming on Netflix from December 5.
