YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's assets grow 41% in 5 years to Rs 529 crore

According to the affidavit with the Election Commission, Jagan’s wife Bharathi Reddy has assets, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 176.30 crore.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's assets grew 41 percent to Rs 529 crore in the last five years, according to an affidavit available with the Election Commission.

During the 2019 Assembly polls, Jagan Mohan Reddy had declared assets worth Rs 375.20 crore. He also declared an income of Rs 57.75 crore for the year 2022-23.

According to the affidavit with the Election Commission, Reddy’s wife Bharathi Reddy has assets, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 176.30 crore. Bharathi also possesses 6.4 kilos of gold and diamond, which are currently valued at Rs 5.30 crore.

Most of Reddy's and his wife’s assets are in the form of shares they hold in various companies, such as Bharathi Cements, Saraswati Cements. and Sandur Power.

Notably, the YSR chief's name figures in as many as 26 FIRs, most of which were filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate before he became the CM.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is on a 21-day election campaign bus tour from Idupulupaya in Kadapa district to Icchapuram in Srikakulam district. The YSR Congress chief is contesting from the Pulivendula Assembly constituency. Assembly elections will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh on May 13.

Elections for the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled on May 13 and the counting of votes will be held on June 4.
