India's youth sees the guarantee of his future in Modi's vision, Prime Minister told Network18

Prime Minister Modi in an exclusive interaction with Network18 on May 14 highlighted India's success in emerging as a electronics manufacturing hub, catapulting the nation to become the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world.

Mobile phones that were once imported in India are being manufactured here and exported for the world, PM Modi told Network18 during an interaction, highlighting the status of a mobile phone manufacturing hub.

More than 99 percent of mobile phones used in India today are now being manufactured locally. Apple has set revenue records in India in the quarter that ended March 31, with double-digit growth on the back of strong iPhone sales.

With over 850 million mobile phone users and the potential to surpass a billion smartphone users within the next five years, India is poised to become Apple's third-largest market in the next 2-3 years. Apple has been steadily ramping up local production of its iPhone devices in India, and Google too had last year announced that it plans to make its Pixel smartphones in India. The nation has now set an ambitious goal to produce $300 billion in electronics products by 2025-26.

PM Modi told Network18 that the youth of the nation is with the party because they see the guarantee of their future aligning with party's vision for the nation. He added that the youth is backing BJP because on ground, they can see major milestones being realised - like the Chandrayaan mission, Digital India and Startup India missions, and the nation becoming a hub for Pharma and Hydrogen fuel, among other successes.
