UP Election Results 2024 Highlights: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expresses happiness over Lok Sabha 2024 results; highlights role of Uttar Pradesh in electoral outcome

The Samajwadi Party's Rambhual Nishad defeated BJP candidate Maneka Gandhi in the Sultanpur constituency. According to the Election Commission's data, Nishad won by a margin of 43,174 votes. According to the Election Commission website, Gandhi received 4,01,156 votes, while Nishad received 4,44,330.

After his win from Amethi, Congress leader KL Sharma says, as an MP, I got the mandate so I will work accordingly. If we form govt in the centre, the way earlier work used to happen in Amethi during Rahul Gandhi's tenure, same way work will happen.

Samajwadi Party's Iqra Hasan won UP's Kairana seat defeating BJP's Pradeep Chaudhary by more than 69,000 votes.As of 8 p.m., data from the Election Commission showed that Hasan had gotten 5,28,013 votes, or 48.9% of the total votes cast, while Chaudhary had received 4,58,897 votes, or 42.5% of the vote share.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won by 687649 votes in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli Lok Sabha seat. He has also won Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.

Samajwadi Party's and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav won the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat with around 640207 votes. The SP chief contested against BJP's Subrat Pathak who had won the seat in 2019 narrowly defeating Dimple Yadav

Arun Govil, a senior BJP leader, was victorious from the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha constituency of Meerut. Following multiple counting rounds, Govil received around 5,46,469 votes. BJP had fielded the famous Lord Rama of televison's Ramayana against Samajwadi Party candidate Sunita Verma.

Union Minister and BJP's candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi Lok Sabha seat, Smriti Irani assured that she will continue to be in the service of the people of Amethi as she concedes defeat from Amethi. Samajwadi Party leader and wife of former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav won from Mainpuri constituency by a large margin. She was fielded against BJP's Jayveer Singh and BSP's Shiv Prasad Yadav.

Son of former PM Chandra Shekhar, BJP candidate Neeraj Shekhar trails by 33665 votes in Ballia (UP) Lok Sabha seat and SP Sanatan Pandey is leading.

Ritesh Pandey, who changed to BJP from BSP, is trailing by 137131 votes from Ambedkar Nagar LS constituency; Samajwadi Party candidate Lalji Verma leads.

Bhojpuri star and BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' trails by 154900 votes in Azamgarh (UP)Lok Sabha seat ; Samajwadi Party candidate Dharmendra Yadav leads.

Uttar Pradesh Congress chief and candidate from Varanasi, Ajay Rai said, "...Everyone has been campaigning for him and despite that PM Modi was trailing for last three hours. Winning by a margin of 1,50,000 was tough for him. The people of Kashi have shown that their support is with their brother (me)..."

As a big shock, the BJP was trailing in Ayodhya, even after the inauguration of Ram Mandir being one of the main highlights of BJP's 2019 Poll Manifesto. Awadhesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading Lallu Singh of the BJP by more than 3,000 votes in Faizabad, the constituency that includes Ayodhya.

As per the latest numbers, BJP is leading in 37 seats and SP is leading in 34 seats. On the other hand Congress is leading in only 7 seats.

Uttar Pradesh Dy CM Brajesh Pathak said, "Let the vote counting conclude. The results are not as per our expectations, but there is no need to worry. We will form the government..."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is leading Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP by 319256 votes in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency.

After a scare in the morning when Congress's state chief Ajay Rai was leading in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained his lead of 1.2 lakh votes.

The Samajwadi Party is leading in 36 seats, while in 34 seats, the BJP is leading. In two seats, RLD is ahead.

Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister and the BJP's candidate for the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency is ahead by a margin of 17,420 seats.

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress candidate contesting from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, is ahead by a margin of 1,64,249 votes.

Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party's nominee for the Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency, is leading by a margin of 64,511 votes.

Congress candidate Kishori Lal continued with his lead and Smriti Irani is trailing with a margin of 37640.

Congress' Rae Bareli candidate Rahul Gandhi is currently leading with 87026 votes while BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh is trailing as per the latest Election Commission of India trends.

The BJP is currently dominating in 37 seats, followed by the Samajwadi Party in 33 seats and the Congress in 7 seats, as Uttar Pradesh continues to see fierce competition between INDIA and the NDA alliance according to EC data.

According to latest EC trends, BJP and SP are having a very close fight as BJP is leading with 35 seats and SP with 34 seats.

“We have said time and again that the INDIA alliance is winning at least 295 seats, and in Uttar Pradesh, we are getting a minimum of 60 seats. It is a matter of great pleasure that we are winning seats beyond expectations,” said Samajwadi Party candidate from UP’s Azamgarh, Dharmendra Yadav.

BJP candidate from UP's Mathura, Hema Malini said, "...This is a very exciting moment right now and I am sure that our party will come and we will definitely form the government. I am also getting a very good lead from Mathura. Things are going very well right now...".

In the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading ahead of Congress candidate Ajay Rai by 436 votes, according to the EC.

In the Uttar Pradesh LS seat of Meerut, SP's Sunita Verma leads with 6,388 votes over BJP's Arun Govil.

In the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, SP leader Akhilesh Yadav leads ahead of BJP candidate Subrat Pathak by 3,442 votes.

According to initial trends of 13 seats in the state on the EC website, BJP is leading with 6 Lok Sabha seats, SP with 5 and Congress with 2 in Uttar Pradesh.

“It’s the day of Lord Hanuman. Everything happens with his blessings. We wish PM Modi to become the Prime Minister for the third time,” said BJP's Lok Sabha candidate from UP's Gorakhpur seat Ravi Kishan.

Counting of votes have begin in the state at counting centres in Gautam Budh Nagar and Raebareli Parliamentary constituency.

Joint CP- Law & Order Upendra Kumar Agarwal spoke about security arrangements on vote counting saying, "The counting of votes will begin from 8 am. Three-tier security arrangements have been made... There are more than 1500 police personnel, 2 companies of paramilitary, and one company of PAC have also been deployed... Taking out any kind of procession is also banned..."

This is not the first time the Samajwadi Party and Congress have joined forces. In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, they allied with the tagline "Do Ladke," but the results were disappointing, leading to the coalition's rapid disintegration. Leaders of the two parties chastised one another after the breakdown, with Akhilesh Yadav even pledging not to form another coalition. He consistently asserted that the SP would pursue an independent campaign in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections. However, Samajwadi Party and Congress united again to form an alliance for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

According to data from the Election Commission's 2019 elections data, 10 constituencies had extremely narrow victory margins of two per cent or less. These include Sultanpur, Ballia, Badaun, Saharanpur, Machhlishahr, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Kannauj, Chandauli, and Saharanpur. Of these, the BSP claimed two while the BJP won eight.

The elections took place in Uttar Pradesh in all seven phases. It is the most crucial political state in the country since it sends as many as 80 members to the lower house.
