- The high court, in an order passed on May 20 restraining the BJP from publishing derogatory advertisements regarding the TMC and violating the Model Code of Conduct until June 4 and until further orders.

- Hours after Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that Naveen Patnaik would become a former chief minister after counting of votes on June 4, the ruling BJD president on Tuesday said that the saffron party will meet the same electoral fate as in Karnataka, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh.

- Patnaik in a video message said: “The Bhartiya Janata Party said they will form government in Karnataka, they failed. They also said the same for Telangana and failed. They said the same in Himachal Pradesh and also failed.” “I am certain that their same reputation will continue in this elections in Odisha,” Patnaik, a five-time chief minister of Odisha said.

- Earlier, Shah at three back-to-back election rallies had claimed that Patnaik would become a former chief minister after counting of votes on June 4, and the BJP is all set to form the government in Odisha by securing more than 75 of the 147 seats in the state.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meditate at Rock Memorial, a monument built in tribute to Swami Vivekananda, in Kanyakumari following the culmination of the Lok Sabha polls campaign on May 30, BJP leaders said on Tuesday.

- The Congress' Tamil Nadu unit said the Election Commission should not grant permission for the PM's programme, as the model code of conduct was in force. Such a move was an attempt at "indirect campaigning" after the end of canvassing of votes, TNCC chief K Selvaperunthagai alleged.

- Amid reports of several post-poll violence in Odisha's Ganjam district, the police have asked tea stall and dhaba owners to close their outlets by 8.30 pm every day till the declaration of the election results on June 4.

- "We have appealed to owners of dhabas and tea stalls to close their outlets in the district by 8.30 pm to avoid the violence," said SP (Ganjam) Jagmohan Meena.

- In an effort to prevent clashes among supporters of the rival political parties, this measure has been taken, he said.

- Leading figures from the BJP and Congress will return to Odisha ahead of the critical final stage of the state's simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on June 1 to support their respective candidates' campaigns.

- Vice-president of the BJP's Odisha unit Golak Mohapatra has announced that Modi will speak at public gatherings in Chhau Padia, Baripada, Balasore, and Kendrapara.
