The Congress on Tuesday released its third list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. With today's list, the Congress has declared 64 candidates for the elections to the 70-member Assembly.
The Grand Old Party has fielded former Union minister Krishna Tirath from Patel Nagar, councillor Ariba Khan from Okhla, Harbani Kaur from Janakpuri and Jitender Solanki from Vikaspuri.
Besides Ms. Tirath and Ms. Khan, the Congress’ latest list includes Dharam Pal Lakda from Mundka, Rajesh Gupta from Kirari, Kunwar Karan Singh from Model Town, Prem Sharma from Hari Nagar, Harbani Kaur from Janakpuri and Mange Ram from Palam.
Addressing his first public event in Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, blaming him for “rising corruption and pollution” in the national capital.
Earlier on December 24, the Congress released its second list of 26 candidates, fielding Farhad Suri against AAP’s Manish Sisodia from Jangpura while also giving tickets ex-AAP MLAs Asim Khan and Devender Sehrawat.
