The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced an extension of the quarterly examination holiday for all types of schools in the state. Students will now return to classes on Monday, October 7th, instead of the previously announced date of October 3.
The decision to extend the holiday was made to provide students with additional time to prepare for their studies. The quarterly examinations, which are conducted annually for students in classes 6 to 12, were scheduled to begin on September 20th.
According to the department's statement, all government, government-aided, and private primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools operating under its purview will resume classes on October 7. The extended holiday will allow students to fully recharge and focus on their academic pursuits.
In Tamil Nadu, schools hold quarterly exams every year in September for students in grades 6 to 12 in government, government-aided, and private schools. This year, the exams for 11th and 12th-grade students started on September 19 and will continue until September 27. Similarly, the quarterly exams for students in grades 6 to 10 will take place from September 20 to 27. After that, a quarterly break has been scheduled for all students from September 28 to October 2.
