Maharashtra RTE Lottery 2024 today, result to be announced on June 13

Maharashtra RTE Admission 2024-25: The lottery to fill the 25% of seats reserved for underprivileged students under the Right to Education Act (RTE) Maharashtra will be held today, on June 7. However, the state government informed the High Court on Wednesday that the results will be declared on June 13, following a court directive.

This delay comes after a legal battle concerning private unaided schools. On May 6, the High Court stayed the government's decision to exclude these schools from the RTE admission process. However, admissions had already begun based on a previous order from February 9.

The Maharashtra RTE (Right To Education) Act is a state-level initiative that ensures the fundamental right to education for all children between the ages of 6 and 14 in Maharashtra. It mandates that 25% of seats in all private schools (unaided) from pre-primary to Class VIII be reserved for students belonging to disadvantaged sections of society.
