Delhi Nursery Admission 2025: Selection Process and CriteriaThe DoE oversees a centralized online system for the 25% of seats reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students. As per the guidelines, children eligible for Nursery admission must be at least three years old as of March 31, 2025, with a maximum age limit of four years. A relaxation of up to 30 days in the age criteria can be granted upon parental request.
Admissions are based on a points system where schools allocate specific scores for various criteria. Proximity to the school holds the highest weight, emphasizing the importance of location. Additional factors include sibling and alumni connections.
Certain schools may also assign points for being a firstborn, a girl child, or from a single-parent household. However, criteria such as parental qualifications, occupations, and financial status are explicitly excluded. Schools have the discretion to determine their criteria and the points assigned, with some institutions offering provisions for specific groups, such as religious minorities (e.g., Sikh and Christian communities) or economically disadvantaged families.
