The Patna High Court has directed the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) to release supplementary results for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE)-1 exam held in 2023. This comes as a relief for candidates who may have narrowly missed qualifying in the initial round.
Justice Nani Tagia issued the order on Thursday, following the completion of hearings on petitions filed by candidates. The first phase of the TRE-1 exam had seen 2773 candidates qualify, but there were a total of 4797 vacancies. This left 2024 positions unfilled after the initial results were announced.
The BPSC had previously stated that these remaining seats would be filled through the second phase of the teacher recruitment process. However, several candidates challenged this decision in the High Court.
The court's order mandates the BPSC to release the supplementary results as soon as possible. This will provide an opportunity for additional deserving candidates to be considered for the vacant teaching positions.
The release date for the supplementary results has not yet been officially announced by the BPSC. Candidates are advised to monitor the commission's website for further updates.
