As monsoon tightens its grip over Telangana, the Hyderabad Met department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for multiple districts across the state, Telangana Today reported.
In its Monday evening forecast, the weather department also issued a warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds up to 30 to 40 kmph across all districts of the state, the report added.
As per the report, in the next 24 to 48 hours, districts such as Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem are likely to receive heavy rainfall, according to the Hyderabad Met department.
In almost all districts, the coming week is expected to remain cloudy, with maximum daytime temperatures likely to hover between 34°C and 32°C, the IMD forecast said.
As per the report, Hyderabad and its surrounding districts, including Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy, will continue to experience overcast conditions.
"Generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by strong surface winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur,” the Hyderabad MET department was quoted by Telangana Today as saying.
The districts where heavy rains have been forecast by the IMD Hyderabad include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts of Telangana, the report added.
