Mumbai Police have registered a case against popular Bollywood playback singer Yasser Desai after a viral video showed him performing a risky stunt on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. According to a TimesNow report, an FIR was filed on Wednesday under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.

The footage, recorded by an onlooker and later shared with the police, captures Desai striking a pose on the edge of the bridge while two associates film him. The group allegedly fled the scene in a car shortly after. Police traced the vehicle using its number plate from the video and identified Desai as the man seen in the clip.

The bridge, a high-security area, strictly bans such stunts, leading to immediate police intervention after CCTV footage verified the incident. Desai, famed for chart-toppers like ‘Dil Ko Karaar Aaya’, has remained silent on the matter, sparking disbelief among fans. Authorities are still probing the motive behind the reckless act.

An official confirmed that the FIR includes charges under sections 285 (causing danger or obstruction in a public way), 281 (rash driving), 125 (endangering life or personal safety) and 3(5) (common intention). Authorities are now attempting to contact Desai and his associates for further legal proceedings, reported PTI.

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a crucial arterial route in Mumbai, has strict regulations against such acts due to safety concerns. The police action follows growing scrutiny over public figures engaging in reckless behaviour for social media content. The FIR was filed for public safety violations and police have begun an investigation into the incident, Mumbai Police said.
