A Lamborghini Aventador, valued at nearly Rs 10 crore, caught fire on a bustling Bengaluru street on Sunday evening, sparking viral online footage and drawing a crowd of concerned citizens. The high-end sports car belongs to well-known social media influencer Sanjeev, widely recognised by his Instagram moniker, Nimma Mane Maga Sanju.
🔥 Another day, another Lamborghini in flames.
This time in Bengaluru, as per report from NDTV.
This isn’t a “rare incident” anymore. It’s a pattern.
Why is Lamborghini silent???
Why are their cars catching fire???
Are their cars safe???
Should they be allowed in India??? 🚫🏎️🔥… pic.twitter.com/1J2TXuWQsD— Gautam Singhania (@SinghaniaGautam) August 3, 2025
Eyewitness videos, which quickly spread across social media platforms, captured dramatic scenes as flames erupted from the rear of the Aventador, precisely where the mid-mounted engine is housed. Passers-by leapt into action, dousing the blazing vehicle with buckets of water and sand while others used fire extinguishers, all as smoke billowed from the luxury car.
This incident follows a strikingly similar episode in December last year, when a Lamborghini Revuelto of comparable value caught fire on Mumbai’s Coastal Road, again making national headlines. In the wake of recurring incidents involving Lamborghinis catching fire on Indian roads, high-profile figures such as business tycoon and automotive enthusiast Gautam Singhania have publicly expressed concerns regarding the brand’s safety.
Despite the intensity of the fire, NDTV reported that no one suffered any serious injuries. Initial speculation online claimed the supercar had been completely destroyed, but Sanjeev was quick to address these rumours. Taking to social media, the influencer clarified that his prized Lamborghini suffered only “minor damage”, countering claims that the car was gutted in the fire.
Sanjeev, who boasts more than 200,000 followers on Instagram, is no stranger to the limelight. He is often spotted wearing elaborate gold jewellery around his neck and wrists, and is as famous for his lavish lifestyle and luxury car collection as he is for his social media presence. Identifying himself as a farmer, Sanjeev’s eclectic persona has made him a prominent figure on digital platforms.
The exact cause of the incident remains unclear. There is, as yet, no official word on what triggered the fire in the Italian sports car, which remains one of the world’s most sought-after models.
