A 35-year-old man in Haryana’s Bhiwani was allegedly killed by his wife and her lover after he caught them in an objectionable position. The accused, Raveena, a YouTuber, and her lover took her husband Praveen's body on their bike and dumped it in a drain outside the city in March.
The 32-year-old accused met Suresh on social media and started making short videos together. They created content together for around one-and-a-half years. However, her husband, Praveen and his family objected to their partnership, NDTV reported
Raveena and Suresh gained over 34,000 followers on Instagram through their reels. Her YouTube series also featured other artists. She continued making and posting videos despite her family's strong opposition and frequent arguments with her husband.
On March 25, Praveen reportedly caught Raveena and her friend Suresh in a compromising situation, which led to a heated altercation. Enraged, Raveena and Suresh strangled Praveen with a dupatta, killing him. When family members asked about Praveen’s whereabouts, she pretended to not know.
Later that night, around 2.30 am, the duo transported Praveen’s body on a bike and dumped it in a drain along Dinnod Road, approximately six kilometres from Raveena’s home in Gujron ki Dhani, near the old bus stand in Bhiwani.
On March 28, the Sadar station police found Praveen’s decomposed body. CCTV footage from the area showed a man riding a motorcycle with a helmet, and Raveena with her face covered, and a body kept between them. Two hours later, Raveena returned on the same bike with the same rider but without the body.
Raveena and Suresh have since been arrested and remanded in judicial custody. Meanwhile, Raveena and Praveen’s six-year-old son is now living with his grandfather, Subhash, and uncle, Sandeep.
This case follows another such incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, where a woman and her partner murdered her husband, dismembered the body, and sealed the remains in a cement-filled drum.
