The arrest of self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati has exposed disturbing details of his alleged exploitation of young women students. Police investigations into his WhatsApp chats reveal how he tried to manipulate and pressure women for sexual favours.
According to a report by NDTV, one of the most shocking conversations shows him asking a student to arrange a meeting for a “Dubai Sheikh.” In the exchange, he wrote:
Delhi Baba: “One Dubai Sheikh wants a sex partner, do you have any nice friend?”
Victim: “Koi nahi hai” (There is no one).
Delhi Baba: “How it’s possible? Your any classmate? Junior?”
In several chats, Chaitanyananda used infantilising terms for a victim, calling her “Sweetie Baby Daughter Doll,” and sent constant messages, sometimes late into the night. His texts included:
“Babyyyyy” (7:49 PM)
“Baby where are you?” (11:59 PM)
“Good Morning Baby” (12:40 PM)
“Why are you angry with me?” (12:41 PM)
On another occasion, he texted, “Good Evening my most beloved baby daughter doll.” The victim replied, “Here afternoon sir, happy afternoon. Did you have something sir?” In another chat, he joked about “disco dance” and asked if she wanted to join. At one point, he even asked a student, “You’ll not sleep with me?”
Arrest in Agra
The 62-year-old, accused of harassing at least 17 women, was arrested at 3.30 am on Sunday from a hotel in Agra’s Taj Ganj area. Police said he had been absconding for nearly two months, frequently shifting between Vrindavan, Mathura, and Agra. He often stayed in small hotels and used taxis to avoid detection.
At the Agra hotel, he had checked in under the false name “Partha Sarathi” and was staying in Room 101 since September 27. Hotel staff said he hardly left his room before being caught. He is now in five days of police custody.
