Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Thursday, causing fear among parents, students, and school staff.

According to officials, the threatening email was sent at around 1.42 am. The message claimed that bombs would explode in three to four schools, and it also mentioned some schools in Chandigarh. As soon as school authorities read the email, they immediately informed the police and security agencies.

Police teams quickly reached the schools and started large search operations as a safety step. Special squads, including dog squads and bomb detection and disposal teams, were sent to carefully check the school buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, and nearby areas. Security officers carried out detailed inspections to make sure that students, teachers, and school property were safe.

Some of the well-known schools that allegedly received the threatening emails include Delhi Public School (DPS), Modern School, Sanskriti School, Amity and Birla Vidya Niketan. Police officials said they are closely watching the situation and have started an investigation to find out who sent the email.

These threats came just one day after several schools in Gurugram also reported similar bomb scare calls. A day earlier, the Dwarka court had also received a bomb threat, which was later found to be false. On Wednesday, about 26 schools in Chandigarh received similar emails, creating panic among students and parents. In all these cases, no explosives or suspicious items were found.

In Chandigarh, both government and private schools in areas such as Sectors 25, 19, 45, and 16 were affected. Many schools evacuated students, increased security, and even sent children back home if they were on the way to school.

Police have advised the public not to believe rumours or unverified news on social media, saying it can create unnecessary fear and confusion.
