Bengaluru’s famous weather is about to take a soggy turn. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a week of cloudy skies, scattered showers and the occasional thunderstorm as June gives way to July. While there’s no red alert, locals might want to keep their umbrellas close, those sudden Bengaluru drizzles are coming back
As per TimesNow, the next couple of days (June 26-27) will see mostly overcast skies, with spells of rain and possible thundershowers. Temperatures will stay pleasant around 29°C in the day and a cool 20-21°C at night. But with humidity levels sitting between 65-85%, the air will feel thick and sticky.
By Thursday (June 28), the rain may ease up slightly, turning more scattered, but the clouds aren’t going anywhere. Daytime temps could nudge up to 30°C, while nights remain comfortably at 20°C. The silver lining? Humidity should dip to 55-75%, making things a little less clammy, TimesNow reported.
Come July, the showers are expected to return more steadily (July 1-2), though still nothing severe. The mercury will hold steady, 30°C by day and 20°C after dark, with humidity dropping further to 50-65%.
Though no official warnings have been issued, the IMD hasn’t ruled out thunderstorms, especially early in the week. For those hitting the roads, it’s worth leaving a bit earlier - those familiar Bengaluru traffic snarls tend to get worse when the skies open up.
