Tesla has confirmed that the first batch of its Model Y electric SUVs for India will be delivered starting September 2025. The announcement comes alongside the opening of the company's new Experience Centre and charging facility in Delhi.
Tesla Model Y: Delivery Timeline and Order Details
According to Tesla, customers who place orders now can expect deliveries of the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant in the third quarter of 2025, while the
Long Range RWD variant is scheduled for dispatch in the fourth quarter of the same year.
Orders can be placed online through Tesla's official India website. An order deposit of Rs 22,220 is required, along with an administration and service fee of Rs 50,000. The RWD variant is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Long Range RWD variant is Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tesla Model Y: Variants and Performance
The
RWD version of the Model Y offers a claimed WLTP range of 500km and accelerates from 0–100kmph in 5.9 seconds. The Long Range RWD model extends the range to 622km and reduces acceleration time to 5.6 seconds. Both trims have a top speed of 201kmph.
Tesla Model Y: Charging Infrastructure Expansion
The delivery schedule coincides with Tesla's efforts to strengthen its charging network in India. The new Delhi charging station, located at Aerocity's Worldmark 3, is equipped with four V4 Supercharging DC stalls and three AC Destination Charging stalls. This is Tesla's second charging station in India, complementing the one in Mumbai's BKC area.
Tesla Model Y: Customer Experience Initiatives
Tesla is encouraging prospective buyers to experience the Model Y first-hand through test drives at its Experience Centres in Delhi and Mumbai. In addition, each new vehicle purchased this quarter comes with a complimentary Wall Connector for home or workplace installation, enabling daily full charging without visiting charging stations.
Tesla Model Y: After-Sales and Service Plans
To support incoming deliveries, Tesla has announced plans for authorised body shops and service centres in multiple cities, along with mobile service units capable of performing most repairs at customer locations. The company emphasises that its vehicles require minimal maintenance due to fewer moving parts, remote diagnostics, and over-the-air software updates.
