
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has launched petrol-powered versions of the Harrier and Safari SUVs in India, expanding the powertrain options for its flagship models. Both SUVs are now available with the new 1.5-litre Hyperion Turbo-GDi petrol engine. Prices start at Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Harrier petrol and Rs 13.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Safari petrol.
The newly introduced 1.5-litre Hyperion Turbo-GDi petrol engine develops 170PS of power and 280Nm of torque. The transmission options include 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. Tata stated that the engine has been engineered using advanced AI- and ML-based optimisation to balance performance, fuel efficiency and refinement.
Both SUVs feature a 14.5-inch cinematic infotainment screen powered by Samsung Neo QLED technology, paired with a 10-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos. Additional features include Vision-X E-IRVM with built-in dual dash cam and DVR, clear view dual camera washer, VisionSync memory ORVMs with auto reverse dip, Intelli-Start with climate sync, ventilated and powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and advanced connectivity features.
All petrol variants of the Harrier and Safari have achieved a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. With the inclusion of the Hyperion petrol engine, the entire Harrier and Safari portfolio is now 5-star certified under Bharat NCAP.
The Tata Harrier petrol range starts with the Smart variant priced at Rs 12.89 lakh, available only with a manual transmission. The Pure X variant is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh for MT and Rs 17.53 lakh for AT, while the Dark editions of the same variant are priced at Rs 16.63 lakh (MT) and Rs 17.91 lakh (AT).
The Adventure X variant is priced at Rs 16.86 lakh (MT) and Rs 18.47 lakh (AT), with the Dark versions priced at Rs 17.38 lakh (MT) and Rs 18.89 lakh (AT). The Adventure X+ trim is priced at Rs 17.13 lakh (MT) and Rs 18.74 lakh (AT), while the Dark editions cost Rs 17.65 lakh (MT) and Rs 19.26 lakh (AT).
The Fearless X variant is priced at Rs 19.99 lakh (MT) and Rs 21.78 lakh (AT), with Dark versions at Rs 20.65 lakh (MT) and Rs 22.30 lakh (AT). The Fearless X+ trim is priced at Rs 22.11 lakh (MT) and Rs 23.53 lakh (AT), while Dark versions are priced at Rs 22.63 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.05 lakh (AT).
At the top of the range, the Fearless Ultra is priced at Rs 22.71 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.13 lakh (AT), while the Fearless Ultra Red Dark is priced at Rs 23.26 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.68 lakh (AT).
The Safari petrol range starts with the Smart variant at Rs 13.29 lakh (MT). The Pure X variant is priced at Rs 16.49 lakh (MT) and Rs 17.91 lakh (AT), while the Dark versions cost Rs 17.01 lakh (MT) and Rs 18.52 lakh (AT).
The Adventure X+ variant is priced at Rs 17.75 lakh (MT) and Rs 19.35 lakh (AT), with Dark editions at Rs 18.27 lakh (MT) and Rs 19.88 lakh (AT). The Accomplished X variant is priced at Rs 20.84 lakh (MT) and Rs 22.49 lakh (AT), while Dark versions cost Rs 21.36 lakh (MT) and Rs 23.01 lakh (AT).
The Accomplished X+ variant is priced at Rs 22.73 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.15 lakh (AT). Six-seat versions of the same trim are priced at Rs 22.82 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.24 lakh (AT). The Accomplished Ultra is priced at Rs 23.33 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.75 lakh (AT), while the six-seat version costs Rs 23.42 lakh (MT) and Rs 24.84 lakh (AT).
At the top end, the Accomplished Ultra Red Dark is priced at Rs 23.68 lakh (MT) and Rs 25.10 lakh (AT), while the six-seat Red Dark variant costs Rs 23.77 lakh (MT) and Rs 25.19 lakh (AT).
All the prices are ex-showroom.While the Tata Harrier petrol will rival the MG Hector, the Tata Safari petrol will take on the Mahindra XUV 7XO, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar, among others.
