
JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the MG Majestor, positioning it as India's first D+ segment SUV. The model will rival the Toyota Fortuner Legender in the full-size SUV space. While pre-bookings have opened at Rs 41,000, prices will be announced in April 2026, along with the commencement of showroom display and test drives. Vehicle deliveries are scheduled to begin in May 2026.
The Majestor, which first appeared at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, will sit at the top of the company's internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio. It will be available in Sharp and Savvy variants across 2WD and 4WD drivetrains. Colour options include Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black and Metal Ash.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 5,046mm in length, 2,016mm in width and 1,870mm in height and drives on a 2,950mm wheelbase. For reference, the Toyota Fortuner Legender measures 4,795mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,835mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745mm. In comparison, the MG Majestor is 251mm longer, 161mm wider and 35mm taller, while its wheelbase is 205mm longer.
The exterior elements include a mosaic matrix combination grille, dragon eyes DRLs, split headlamps, connected LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators, a raised hood line and 19-inch alloy wheels. The cabin is offered in six-seat and seven-seat configurations. Key features include ventilated front seats with massage function, 12-way power adjustment for the driver and 8-way for the passenger, driver seat memory function, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof and 64-colour ambient lighting. The Majestor also gets dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, dual wireless chargers, a 220V power outlet and more than 75 connected features via iSmart.
Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5PS and 478.5Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and is offered in both 2WD and advanced 4WD configurations. The 4WD system includes 10 off-road modes. The Majestor also comes with front, rear and centre differential locks, crawl control mode, 219mm ground clearance for the 4x2 version and an 810mm water-wading capability.
On the safety front, the SUV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS. It also features a 360-degree HD camera and electronic stability programme integrating anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, traction control system and roll movement intervention.
Under MG's 5-5-5 programme, the Majestor is offered with a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, five-year roadside assistance and five labour-free services. Early customers will receive priority deliveries, access to exclusive previews across select cities in March 2026 and invite-only experiential drives.
