Mahindra XUV 7XO pre-bookings open at Rs 21,000

The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will be called the Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Mahindra & Mahindra has opened pre-bookings for the upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO in India. The SUV is the facelifted version of the Mahindra XUV700. Customers can book the model by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The Mahindra XUV 7X0 launch is scheduled for January 5.

The Mahindra XUV700 was first launched in India on August 14, 2021. Since then, the SUV has crossed cumulative sales of over 3,00,000 units. At present, the Mahindra XUV700 is priced between Rs 13,65,800 and Rs 25,14,000 (ex-showroom).

The SUV is offered with two engine options. The petrol version uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 197hp and 380Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel option is a 2.2-litre unit offered in two states of tune. The lower-output version delivers 153hp and 360Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The higher-output version produces 182hp, with torque rated at 420Nm for the manual and 450Nm for the automatic.

These powertrains are expected to continue on the Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift. Diesel variants are likely to remain the volume drivers. Mahindra is also expected to retain the AWD option.

Design updates on the Mahindra XUV 7XO are expected to draw cues from the recently launched XEV 9S electric SUV. The facelift may feature a more upright front profile, a full-width LED DRL, revised LED headlamps and a new grille. Updates to the rear could include redesigned taillamps, along with new alloy wheel designs.

Interior changes are expected to be more substantial. Mahindra has already teased a triple-screen dashboard layout and a powered boss mode for the co-driver seat. The SUV is also expected to get a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos and a redesigned climate control panel. The feature list may be expanded further with the addition of Level 2+ ADAS.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift price is expected to range between Rs 14,00,000 and Rs 26,00,000 (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete with the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus.
