Mahindra & Mahindra today launched the XUV 3XO EV in India at a starting price of Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom), expanding its electric SUV portfolio. While the new electric model is offered in two variants -- AX5 and AX7L, its deliveries are scheduled to begin from February 23.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will directly rival the Tata Nexon.ev, which is priced between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Positioned as an electric alternative for urban-focussed buyers, the XUV 3XO EV builds on the success of the internal combustion engine (ICE) XUV 3XO, which has recorded cumulative sales of close to 1.8 lakh units since its launch in April 2024. Mahindra said the EV version is aimed at customers with primarily intra-city usage looking to transition to electric mobility.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV AX5 is priced at Rs 13.89 lakh, while the higher AX7L variant costs Rs 14.96 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. An optional 7.2kW wall charger is available at an additional cost of Rs 50,000.
The XUV 3XO EV is powered by a 39.4kWh battery pack. Mahindra claims a real-world driving range of up to 285km. The electric motor produces 110kW of power and 310Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100kmph sprint in 8.3 seconds. The electric SUV features three drive modes -- Fun, Fast and Fearless.
Charging options include DC fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes using a 50kW DC charger. The vehicle also features frequency-dependent damping suspension and MTV-CL suspension technology. The turning circle diameter is claimed to be 10.6 metres.
The XUV 3XO EV comes equipped with Mahindra's Adrenox connected car technology, offering over 80 connected features, including remote vehicle functions, vehicle status monitoring, trip summaries and smartwatch connectivity. Built-in Alexa and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also supported.
Higher variants offer a 7-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, twin 10.25-inch HD infotainment and digital instrument displays, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof.
On the safety front, the electric SUV offers 35 standard safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability programme, tyre pressure monitoring system and four disc brakes. The AX7L variant adds Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, auto emergency braking for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, and traffic sign recognition.
A 360-degree surround view system with blind view monitor and front parking assist is also part of the top-spec variant.
Apart from the XUV 3XO EV, Mahindra offers electric SUVs like the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S.
