SUV maker Mahindra officially released sketches of its two upcoming e-SUVs that it plans to launch next week, revealing designs that it says combines 'luxury with boldness'.
The upcoming Electric Origin SUVs – the BE 6e and XEV 9e - will debut on November 26 in Chennai, and the sketches of the SUVs are based on what the company calls 'HeartCore Design Philosophy'. See more pictures here.
The two electric brands - XEV and BE - are debuting their flagship products, next week. Mahindra has in the past stated the objective of making India a hub of EV manufacturing.
Pratap Bose, Chief Design & Creative Officer – Auto & Farm Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra said the designs are about 'Heart and Art', and the designs signal a "new era of innovation, aesthetics, and emotional connection." Mahindra said the design team has blended 'dynamic styling, premium materials, and progressive proportions', and the BE 6e and XEV 9e embody innovation and modern luxury.
These Born Electic EVs will be based on the INGLO platform, which will be the framework for its next generation electric SUVs - the BE 6e and XEV 9e.
Mahindra has in May 2024 stated the ambition to launch 9 ICE SUVs by 2030, of which three will be mid-cycle refreshes, and six will be all new. Along with it, seven Born Electric vehicles are planned by 2030, seven LCVs out of which two will be electric.
To achieve this, M&M has planned capex and investment worth Rs 27,000 crore between FY25–27.
