SUV maker M&M has introduced the new 'INGLO' platform upon which it will be basing its two upcoming electric SUVs, under the Electric Origin philosophy, the company informed on November 21, and which are slated for launch next week.
Mahindra is calling the platform 'intuitive, intelligent, and immersive', with class-leading safety standards, and impressive range and efficiency. INGLO will feature light, flat-floor skateboard structures, along with high-density battery technology. The company claims this platform will maximizes cabin space, offer enhanced comfort, improved seating, and eliminate the central tunnel, a common feature in all the ICE platforms. "It delivers superior stability and handling, providing a driving experience that is lighter, more agile, and incredibly spacious."
Two electric brands - XEV and BE - will be based on this INGLO architecture, set to be unveiled on November 26 in Chennai. Read more here.
INGLO claims efficient performance with robust, advanced LFP battery options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh, which M&M says will assures buyers on range anxiety, and fast-charging that allows charge from 20-80% in just 20 minutes. The platform has an 'intelligent battery and thermal management system', the company said, which maintains performance over numerous charge cycles.
The platform places the battery at a low centre of gravity, which M&M says enhances stability and handling, given the high centre of gravity in SUVs.
