Mahindra ahead in wholesales, Hyundai at front in vehicle registrations in July

Mahindra registered higher PV wholesales as well as vehicle registrations than Hyundai in April 2025, May 2025 and June 2025.

Mahindra vs Hyundai: Wholesales and vehicle registrations

The tussle between Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai Motor India continued in July 2025 with the homegrown auto major staying in front in wholesale despatches and the Indian arm of the South Korean auto giant moving ahead in vehicle registrations.

The country's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, was the leader in terms of vehicle despatches to the dealerships as well as their registrations on a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis in July 2025.

While Maruti's wholesales stood at 1,37,776 units in July 2025, logging a growth of 15.87% m-o-m, the official data from the Vahan portal revealed that the company's registrations jumped 8.63% m-o-m at 1,28,423 units during the month.

Mahindra's passenger vehicle (PV) wholesales jumped 5.42% m-o-m at 49,871 units in July 2025. In comparison, Hyundai clocked a slight decline of 0.12% m-o-m at 43,973 units.

However, in terms of vehicle registrations, the Creta-maker performed better at 42,661 units, witnessing a growth of 8.83% m-o-m, as against 41,476 units of the Scorpio-maker, which recorded a fall of 1.98% y-o-y.
