Rishab Shetty is clearly enjoying a moment that few filmmakers ever reach, and he is doing so with a calm confidence that feels true to who he is. After the massive success of Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, he has emerged not just as a box-office force but as a storyteller who speaks directly to the soul of Indian cinema.

With a worldwide collection of over Rs 850 crore, Kantara became far more than a hit film. It grew into a cultural experience that audiences connected with deeply, both in India and beyond.

What sets Rishab Shetty apart is his rare ability to shine as an actor, director and writer at the same time. His stories feel earthy, spiritual and lived-in, drawing strength from tradition while still appealing to modern audiences.

That balance has helped him reach a global stage without losing the authenticity that defines his work.

Now, Rishab Shetty is preparing for a shift in focus. Speaking to Filmibeat, he shared that the coming year will be about stepping in front of the camera rather than staying behind it. “Next year I won't be behind the camera. I'll focus more on acting,” he said.

One of the most exciting parts of this decision is his confirmed lead role in the pan-India film Jai Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma. The announcement has already sparked excitement, with fans eager to see him channel his intensity purely as a performer.

Even so, Rishab Shetty is not someone who can sit still creatively. While directing may be on pause, writing is very much on his mind. “I will start writing new stories next year. Preparatory work for that will also begin,” he revealed, suggesting that new ideas are already taking shape.

He also hinted at something special on the horizon, adding, “I will make a big announcement about it in 2026. It will be something that fans will remember.”
