BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) recently announced a low-cost smartphone 'Q5' to regain market share lost to Apple's iPhone and Android devices powered by Google's software. Starting July, the new BlackBerry Q5 smartphone will be available in select markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
So, as you wait for its launch, here are seven things that you need to know before you lap it: 1. Cost: Prices are not yet announced but it is likely to target younger and more price-sensitive buyer.
2. Variant: It will be available in colors including pink, red and white.
3. Processor: It works on BlackBerry 10 OS platform, which is the latest in the BB series. The smartphone also comes with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor.
4. Display: It has a 3.1-inch display screen of this handset with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels.
5. Hardware: It includes the tiny qwerty keyboard that still sets BlackBerry apart from Apple's iPhone and most Android phones.
6. Memory: The phone comes with 8 GB internal storage and expandable memory slot.
7. Camera: It has a 5 mega pixel primary camera and 2 mega pixel front facing camera. The primary camera comes with many supporting features to enhance the image quality.
