      Kishore Biyani-led Pantaloons Fashions and Retail Ltd today reported net loss of Rs 43.5 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013 due to higher expenses and decline in other income. The company had reported net loss of Rs 10.79 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago, the company said in a filing to the BSE.


      Pantaloons' net sales during the quarter under review were at Rs 481.22 crore, an increase of 10.41 percent as against Rs 435.81 crore in the same quarter a year ago. Other income in the quarter stood at Rs 1 crore as against Rs 23.35 crore reported in the same quarter last year.


      Overall expenses in the quarter were at Rs 504.08 crore, up 17.05 percent compared with Rs 430.63 crore in the same period last year. Shares of the company closed at Rs 103.25, up 0.15 percent at the end of the day's trade on the BSE.
