JSW Steel production up 34% to 7.62 lakh tonne in Oct
JSW Steel today reported 34 per cent jump in its crude steel production for October at 7.62 lakh tonnes, compared to 5.70 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period. Production of long products grew by 78 per cent to 1.65 lakh tonnes during the month, the company said in a statement.

JSW Steel today reported 34 per cent jump in its crude steel production for October at 7.62 lakh tonnes, compared to 5.70 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period. Production of long products grew by 78 per cent to 1.65 lakh tonnes during the month, the company said in a statement.
Flat products' production grew by two per cent to 4.42 lakh tonnes, up from 4.35 lakh tonnes in the same month last year. Flat products are used for consumer durables and fast moving consumer goods sector, while long products are meant for the construction sector."The company has taken 90 days shutdown of its Corex furnaces at Vijayanagar from October 15, 2012 for capital repairs and capacity enhancement from 0.80 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 0.85 MTPA," the statement said.
