Essel Propack Q2 profit up 34% to Rs 38.5 crore

Essel Group's packaging firm Essel Propack Ltd today reported a 34.05 percent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 38.46 crore for the second quarter ended September 2014.

    Essel Group's packaging firm Essel Propack Ltd today reported a 34.05 percent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 38.46 crore for the second quarter ended September 2014.

    The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 28.69 crore in the corresponding period last year, Essel Propack said in a filing to the BSE.

    Total consolidated income from operations during July-September quarter also increased 13.13 percent to Rs 595.15 crore from Rs 526.07 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

    For the first half of 2014-15 fiscal, the company's consolidated net profit increased 24.24 percent to Rs 64.83 crore as against Rs 52.18 crore in the corresponding period.

    Total income from operations in the first half increased 13.69 percent to Rs 1,143.84 crore from Rs 1,006.08 crore in the same period last year.

    Shares of the company today closed at Rs 113.75 per scrip on the BSE, down 0.91 percent from its previous close.
