Moneycontrol Bureau
The two-day pounding of Crompton Greaves last week had spooked many investors. But incidents of a sharp single day fall are many in the last one year. Moneycontrol Research found that as many as 64 stocks from the BSE 500 universe fell between 15% and 43% in a single day between July 21, 2011 and July 21,2010. And as of July 21, 2011, all of these stocks were trading in the positive terrain. The the biggest single day loser in the last one year had been GTL Infra which fell 43% on June 20 this year.
There are many tunraround stories here as well. VIP Industries, which dropped 18% in October last year, bounced back 40% in the last nine months.
