Rajiv Vaid appointed as COO Daiwa Capital Markets

Investment bank Daiwa Capital Markets today said it has appointed Rajiv Vaid as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Investment bank Daiwa Capital Markets today said it has appointed Rajiv Vaid as Chief Operating Officer (COO).


Prior to his appointment at Daiwa Capital Markets, Vaid, who has over 23 years of experience, was working with Citigroup Global Services as Chief Operating Officer. He completed his graduation in engineering from IIT, Roorkee, and his MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.


Vaid will be based in India and will be part of management, along with Daiwa Capital Markets India President and CEO Hiroaki Kato, a statement from Daiwa Capital Markets said.


"His experience will help us in managing the operations of our various businesses in India and thereby contribute to the overall growth of the business," Kato said in the statement.


Vaid will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the company and will report to Kato, it said.


"I am confident that we will build a strong franchise in the coming months in India," Vaid said on his appointment.


Daiwa Capital Markets is the wholly-owned investment banking arm of Daiwa Securities Group. The bank has over 4,000 employees worldwide and provides integrated financial services, including brokerage, capital raising, IPOs, merger and acquisition advice, it said.
