The Bombay High court on Thursday reprimanded the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for negligent security at Mumbai airport and areas around it.
Yeshwant Shenoy, an advocate, appealed to a bench of Justice Sawant and Justice Rajendra Sawant, seeking criminal action against AAI officers who allowed an increase in heights of buildings around the airport, as reported by TOI.
Previously, the HC had asked AAI to regulate the entry to the airport. The court concluded that AAI is ‘insensible’. It also said: “We don't want a 'dekha jayega' attitude.”
"We find the reply perfunctory in the context of a serious issue as regards safety of the Mumbai airport raised in the petition,'' the bench said in its order.
The court has granted AAI two weeks to file a detailed reply.
