Wipro gets 3-yr IT services order from Rajasthan government

Wipro Ltd said its information technology business unit, Wipro Infotech, has got a three-year information technology service order from the Government of Rajasthan.

Wipro will be responsible to design, develop, deploy and manage the e-form applications hosted on the Rajasthan State portal for delivering services to the masses, the company said in a press release Wednesday.

The IT major will also deploy and manage the State Service Delivery Gateway for accessing these services and associated IT infrastructure for Rajasthan State.

Economic Times today reported that Wipro was evaluating option to sell off its water business in a bid to concentrate on the existing revenue streams. Wipro had in 2008 entered the water business through the acquisition of water treatment firm Aquatech and executes water treatment projects for large industrial customers, including United Breweries, PepsiCo and Coca Cola.
