TVS Motor's total sales dip marginally in Feb

Two and three wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company recorded a marginal dip in total sales at1,65,696 units in February 2013.

    Two and three wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company recorded a marginal dip in total sales at1,65,696 units in February 2013.


    The Chennai-based auto major had sold 1,72,061 units in February 2012, a company statement said. Two wheeler sales declined in February 2013 to 1,60,895 units from 1,68,996 units in the same month last year.

    Domestic sales stood at 1,42,800 units in February 2013 against 1,52,796 units sold in the same month last year.


    Sales of motorcycles in February 2013 registered at 60,985 units as against 63,019 units in the same month of last year.


    Sales of scooters was 30,611 units last month against 36,693 units sold during the same month of the previous year.


    The company witnessed a 22 per cent jump in exports in February 2013 shipping 21,896 units from 17,960 units sold in the same month of last year.


    Two-wheeler exports grew by 12 per cent in February 2013 with sales of 18,095 units in comparison with 16,200 units in February 2012.


    Three wheeler sales soared by 57 per cent in February 2013 to 4,801 units from 3,065 in the same month last year.
