Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi has said the state government is working on various schemes to develop tourism in the state at a world- class level.

Joshi was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the World Tourism Day yesterday. She also participated in a heritage walk held in Allahabad, an official statement issued by the UP government said.

"Tourism is an area where the private sector with very less investment can get a large profit and generate employment. According to a survey, if Rs 10 lakh is invested in tourism, then it may yield 72 jobs," she said.

She said efforts would be made to attract foreign tourists for the 2019 Ardh Kumbh in Allahabad.
