Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hailed a “brilliant operation” by Ukraine’s Security Service that destroyed over 40 Russian aircraft deep inside Russian territory. The attack reportedly hit 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers and was executed across three time zones. Ukrainian drones, transported covertly in trucks, struck airbases housing A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22M planes. The strike was months in the making and personally overseen by Zelenskyy. All Ukrainian operatives involved have been safely evacuated. This comes just ahead of direct peace talks with Russia in Istanbul.
