Shivrajpur Beach in Gujarat shines globally with its new Blue Flag certification and world-class sustainable upgrades.

Gujarat’s tourism push has received a major international boost with the transformation of Shivrajpur Beach—now the state’s first Global Blue Flag-certified beach and a standout symbol of sustainable coastal development.

Backed by a Rs 130 crore investment from the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL), Shivrajpur Beach has been upgraded with world-class, eco-friendly infrastructure that will be showcased at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot from January 10–12, 2026.

Setting Global Benchmarks in Sustainable Tourism

Recognised by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), the prestigious Blue Flag certification acknowledges Shivrajpur Beach’s exceptional standards in environmental management, safety, cleanliness, and amenities. This recognition firmly positions Gujarat as a rising global coastal tourism destination.

The achievement aligns with the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ vision, enabling Indian travellers to experience international-standard beach tourism without leaving the country. Located in Devbhumi Dwarka along Gujarat’s 2,340 km coastline, the beach is known for its pristine waters, serene ambience, and enhanced visitor safety.

World-Class Infrastructure to Elevate Visitor Experience

Shivrajpur’s transformation includes a range of newly developed, modern amenities:

• Arrival plaza.
• Snorkelling plaza.
• Cycling track.
• Scenic promenade.
• Housing and hospitality facilities.
• Sludge treatment plant.
• 11+ km of new access roads built at a cost of Rs 3.93 crore.

Driving Investment in the Kutch–Saurashtra Tourism Circuit

Shivrajpur Beach will serve as a flagship model at VGRC 2026, where the state will present a comprehensive investment roadmap for the Kutch–Saurashtra coastal circuit.

The Dwarka–Okha Urban Development Authority is also preparing an integrated tourism masterplan covering Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, and Shivrajpur. With plans for cultural festivals, water sports, eco-tourism, and heritage hospitality, the region is being developed into one of western India’s most attractive tourism and investment hubs.
