  • Air India suspends UAE, Saudi, Israel, Qatar flights till March 2
  • IndiGo cancels multiple Middle East and Europe flights
  • Passengers offered rebooking or refunds due to disruptions

Amid continuing tensions and airspace disruptions in West Asia, Air India has extended the suspension of all its flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until 23:59 hrs IST on March 2, 2026.

The airline said the decision was taken after closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East and assessing multiple parameters, including safety, security, airspace availability, and operational feasibility.

Select Europe flights cancelled

In addition to the West Asia suspension, Air India has cancelled select Europe-bound services scheduled for March 2, along with their return legs. The affected flights are:

AI117: Amritsar – Birmingham

AI151/AI152: Delhi – Zurich

AI157/AI158: Delhi – Copenhagen

AI114: Birmingham – Delhi

The airline clarified that all other flights to North America and Europe will operate as scheduled but will use alternative routings over available Middle Eastern airspace. These diversions are expected to increase flying time.

Flights to New York’s JFK and Newark Liberty International Airport will operate with technical halts at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport to ensure operational continuity and passenger safety.

Air India said it will continue to review the situation and issue updates based on ongoing assessments. Affected passengers are being informed through their registered contact details and will be offered rebooking options or refunds, as applicable.

IndiGo cancels multiple international services

Meanwhile, IndiGo said it continues to take “measured and responsible decisions” across select international sectors in view of developments in Middle Eastern airspace.

The airline confirmed that a large number of services scheduled for March 2, 2026, have been impacted due to airspace restrictions. These include flights connecting Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, and Ahmedabad with destinations across the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and parts of Europe.

Among the affected routes are:

  • Mumbai – London Heathrow
  • Delhi – Ras Al Khaimah – Istanbul
  • Multiple services between Indian cities and Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat, Kuwait, and Dammam
  • Services to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Medina
  • Select flights to Manchester, Amsterdam, and Athens

IndiGo said impacted customers will be supported with flexible rebooking options or full refunds. Passengers are advised to check their flight status on the airline’s official website or mobile app before heading to the airport. Find the complete list of impacted flights here.
