The BJP leader attacked the Congress for according Rahul Gandhi a "special treatment" following his conviction in a defamation case and accused the party of pressuring the judiciary, and doing everything possible to stay relevant.

The letter stated that the length of the notice period poses a significant safety risk to the aviation industry and the public, whilst undermining the safety culture mandated by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The minister highlighted the vast opportunity that the sector presents as India still only has around 3-4 percent penetration.

Jyotiraditya Scindia also said domestic airlines are together projected to have a fleet of around 2,000 planes in the next five to seven years.

Presenting the 2023-24 Budget on Thursday, Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis also announced the reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) on ATF to 18 per cent from 25 per cent.

After virtually flagging off regional airline IndiaOne Air's flight from Jamshedpur to Kolkata, Scindia said it will also be the first scheduled commercial air service from Jamshedpur, which earlier was limited to non-scheduled operations.

Civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia launched the first phase of the DigiYatra facility last month from the Delhi airport. The facility is available at Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai as of now.

Green steel is a variety manufactured without the use of fossil fuels. It is produced by using low-carbon energy sources such as hydrogen, coal gasification or electricity rather than coal-fired plants.

The minister also expressed confidence that Indian carriers will be able to provide that service and certainly Punjab will be a very key element of that.

Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said India intends to double its steel production to 300 million tonnes per annum by 2030.
