Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh was caught on camera slapping a BPSC aspirant who was among a group of students protesting alleged question paper leak at a centre in Patna on Friday.

Located near Patna airport, the white building was officially registered as the Lok Janshakti Party office by Paras's brother and Chirag Paswan's father, late Ramvilas Paswan

The 41-year-old minister of food processing industries is also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).

He made the comment at a party event in Patna, where he also spoke about his commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as long as Narendra Modi remains Prime Minister

When asked why he makes statements that make people wonder whether is working for or against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union minister Chirag Paswan said, 'My relation with my Prime Minister is that of an unbreakable bond that will remain so till my last breath… no power in the world can break it.'

"My love for Narendra Modi is unshakeable. I am inseparable from him, for as long as he is Prime Minister," Paswan said.

We want caste census to happen because, many times, both state and central governments design schemes keeping caste into account, says Paswan.

On the day the Centre was set to introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, Paswan made it clear that his party wanted the Bill to be sent to a parliamentary committee for further review - not the first time the LJP asserted itself on major issues.

Paswan said the caste census should be part of the next census as specific data is often needed for adequate allocation of money for community-based development schemes. Courts also at times seek population data of different castes, he added.

"My father sought an appointment and waited for more than three months but Rahul Gandhi did not relent," said Chirag Paswan, who at that time too was keen to leave the UPA and join the NDA.

Chirag Paswan has unequivocally opposed the Muzaffarnagar police advisory asking the owners of eateries to display their names, saying he will absolutely never support or encourage any divide in the name of caste or religion.Chirag Paswan said he believes two classes of people rich and poor exist in the society and persons of different castes and religions fall in both categories.

Each of these leaders is a coalition partner except for one who is with the BJP but is yet to completely shed his Congress skin.

Introduced in June 2022, the scheme generated controversy and widespread protests across the country almost immediately after it was announced as it was felt that the candidates were not getting a viable career option.
