French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday slammed US President Donald Trump’s plan to impose 30% tariffs on the European Union and urged the bloc to firmly protect its economic interests. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached immovable assets worth approximately ₹762.47 crore in connection with its ongoing money laundering investigation into Pearls Agrotech Corporation Ltd (PACL). The properties are located across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Australia. The action was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, and involves PACL’s directors, promoters, and related entities, the agency said.

Maharashtra recorded four fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, all of them from Mumbai, according to the state health department. Since January 1, the total number of cases in the state has reached 2,624, with Mumbai accounting for 1,043 of these—551 in June and 51 so far in July. The cumulative death toll stands at 41, with 40 patients having pre-existing health conditions. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries has risen to 2,536.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has cancelled the interim bail of Shahbaz Ansari, an accused arms supplier to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, after he went missing. Ansari, arrested in December 2022 for allegedly supplying weapons and ammunition to the Bishnoi network, had secured bail last month from a vacation judge, citing his wife's supposed surgery.

The NIA contended that the grounds for bail were misleading, and the Special NIA Court accepted its plea to revoke the relief. With Ansari now absconding, the agency has launched a nationwide manhunt to trace and arrest him.

The Odisha Government’s Higher Education Department has suspended Samira Kumar Sahu, an Assistant Professor (Stage-I) in Educational Studies, after a female student allegedly self-immolated on July 12. The suspension is based on prima facie evidence linked to the incident, officials said.

On Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau's Preliminary Report on 12th June AI 171 crash, Airline Pilots' Association of India says, "The tone and direction of the investigation suggest a bias toward pilot error. We categorically reject this presumption and insist on a fair, fact-based inquiry."

"The report was leaked to media without any responsible official signature or attribution. There is lack of transparency in investigation as investigations continue to be shrouded in secrecy, undermining credibility and public trust. Qualified, experienced personnel, especially line pilots, are still not being included in the investigation team."

Civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has stressed that the probe report on the June 12 Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad carries only preliminary findings. “I don't think we should jump to any conclusions over this,” he told reporters in Visakhapatnam, when asked about the report that came out.

Rekha Gupta said, "Making overhead wires underground is a pilot project for Delhi. It is a vision and idea that our Delhi becomes overhead wire-free... US plane maker Boeing, early on Saturday, said it is supporting the ongoing probe into the crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad, which killed over 250 people, and has deferred to India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) as the lead authority under global aviation norms.
