Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan on Thursday lauded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying his clarity of vision and governance has made UP a model state.
Speaking at the Powering Bharat event organized by Network18 in association with Moneycontrol, News18 India, and CNBC Awaaz, Paswan said that Uttar Pradesh’s progress under a double-engine government has greatly influenced him and presents a clear roadmap for Bihar’s future.
“The UP Chief Minister has worked with remarkable clarity to push the state forward. Today, Uttar Pradesh is being counted among the developed or ‘Viksit’ states. It is a great example to what a double-engine government can achieve,” Paswan said.
He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has 'definitely' inspired him due to his clear vision and strong leadership for the state’s development.
Discussing Bihar’s political journey, Paswan pointed out that for nearly three decades, the state and central governments were led by different parties, leading to policy and development gaps. “For 27 years, Bihar experienced a mismatch in governance — when the Centre had a UPA government, Bihar was under the NDA, and when the Centre switched to NDA, Bihar was governed by the Mahagathbandhan. This lack of alignment leads to barriers to progress,” he explained.
Looking ahead, Paswan expressed optimism about Bihar’s future under a unified political leadership at both the Centre and the state.
“With a double-engine government now in place, I believe the next five years will be a golden era for Bihar. We can achieve rapid and sustained development, just like Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
