Samsung Galaxy tri-fold smartphone expected to launch later this year
According to Weibo user Instant Digital, Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone, which is expected to be named the Galaxy G Fold, could be formally introduced at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9. While Samsung might not fully unveil this unique device at the event, we can at least expect a glimpse of the smartphone, with a full launch alongside pricing details expected to come later this year.
This would mark Samsung’s entry into a more complex foldable phone design like the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, as the company has till now launched dual-fold smartphones. Notably, Samsung is also rumoured to tease ‘Project Moohan’ XR headset during this event, alongside its upcoming AR glasses, also expected to go on sale in October this year.
A recent report suggested that the purported Galaxy G Fold might be priced above $3,000 (around Rs 2.56 lakh), and could feature a silicon-carbon battery. Moreover, it could be initially available in the South Korean and Chinese markets, with a broader release expected to happen by next year.
