Rumours around the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra suggested the S Pen might be dropped altogether, especially after Samsung ended support on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and stripped Bluetooth functionality from the S Pen bundled with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, fresh leaks now indicate that the accessory is not only returning but also getting a redesigned look.
Tipster @UniverseIce has shared a render that shows the upper portion of the S Pen docked inside the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The image suggests the stylus will have a noticeably curvier top compared to the sharper design seen in its predecessor. This tweak appears to complement the phone’s expected rounded corners, ensuring the S Pen aligns with the handset’s overall design.
The redesign could be more than cosmetic. With the S Pen housed in a slot along the edge of the device, a curvier stylus may be required to match the Ultra’s evolving form factor. While these details remain unconfirmed until Samsung’s official launch, the source has a reliable history with Samsung-related leaks.
That said, the S Pen’s long-term future looks uncertain. Samsung has gradually scaled back its features, and housing the stylus takes up internal space that could otherwise be used for slimmer hardware or a larger battery. Reports suggest the S26 Ultra will not see a boost in battery capacity, but ditching the stylus in later models could finally make room for one.
For now, though, Galaxy Ultra fans should expect to see the S Pen live on for at least one more generation. Samsung is likely to unveil the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026, around January or February.
