Soon after reports surfaced about the One UI 7 update halt, Samsung confirmed it is pausing the global rollout of the Android 15-based One UI 7 update. The announcement comes just days after the software began rolling out to select Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and some A-series models. The company has not specified when the rollout will resume or provided a timeline for a fix.

Samsung’s statement on the delay

In a response shared with Android Authority, a Samsung spokesperson said: “The One UI 7 rollout schedule is being updated to ensure the best possible experience. The new timing and availability will be shared shortly.” This suggests the company is re-evaluating its deployment plans following unexpected issues reported by early users.

Bug reports and user concerns

Although Samsung has not officially disclosed the reason for the delay, several reports suggest that the move is linked to a software bug that prevents some users from unlocking their Galaxy devices. Notably, users of the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea flagged this issue soon after the update was released. Discussions on Samsung’s Korean forums indicate that affected users were unable to unlock their phones under certain conditions after installing One UI 7.

Firmware pulled from servers

According to a report by The Verge, Samsung has removed the latest firmware from its servers for several Galaxy models. As of now, previous firmware versions are being shown as the latest available update on affected devices.

Samsung has yet to confirm when the One UI 7 rollout will resume or whether affected users will receive an immediate patch.
