Free-to-play online mobile game Genshin Impact is coming to Xbox, developer MiHoYo Limited announced in a website post on Xbox Wire. The open-world third-person action-adventure role-playing game will be made available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming from November 20, 2024. Until now, Genshin Impact has been on Android, iOS, PS5, PS4 and PC platforms, which will change come November 20.
Those who plan to play Genshin Impact through Xbox Cloud Gaming should note that an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is a must to play MiHoYo’s mobile game.
Zhenzhong Yi, Studio Technical Director, HoYoverse, noted in the Xbox wire post: “Starting November 20, Genshin Impact on Xbox will receive the same gameplay, cross-play, and cross-progression functions that other players experience”.
Xbox players can now add Genshin Impact to their wishlist. Those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription can pre-install the mobile game. Several in-game rewards are waiting for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members.
Genshin Impact: Harness the power of the seven elements in Teyvat
Genshin Impact is set in the fictional open world of Teyvat that’s full of life and elemental energy. The backstory of Genshin Impact is about two magic-wielding siblings who are stripped of their powers and separated by an unknown God. In Genshin Impact, you can choose either the brother or the sister as the protagonist.
In Genshin Impact, the player can “harness the seven elements to unleash elemental reactions.” The seven elements are Anemo, Electro, Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, Dendro and Geo. In order to defeat powerful enemies, you’ll have to master the seven elements. Mastery of the seven elements is also needed to solve puzzles and reach different destinations in the in-game world.
In 2020, Apple awarded Genshin Impact as the iPhone Game of the Year.
Gameplay in Genshin Impact combines both melee and ranged attacks like hack-and-slash action with swords and magic-based attacks.
