OnePlus is taking a big step towards boosting its "Made in India" push. The company has teamed up with electronics manufacturer Bhagwati Products Ltd (BPL) to start making its premium tablets right here in India.

The partnership means that popular models like the OnePlus Pad 3 and the OnePlus Pad Lite will now be produced at BPL’s flagship factory in Greater Noida. Until now, OnePlus was known mainly for making its smartphones in India, but this move marks its entry into local tablet manufacturing.

According to OnePlus, this is part of its Project Starlight initiative, which focuses on expanding production within India and creating a stronger local supply chain. The company says making tablets locally will not only help meet growing demand in the country but also allow it to export Indian-made devices to global markets.

Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, called the partnership a “strategic milestone.” He said it reflects the company’s long-term plan to innovate for India and strengthen its connected product ecosystem. “By localizing tablet production, we’re reinforcing our commitment to India and creating meaningful value for our users,” Liu added.

For Bhagwati Products, this is another big name added to its client list. Co-founder Vikas Jain said they’re excited to bring OnePlus tablets into their manufacturing portfolio. “We’re proud to deliver precision and value with our growing team of experts,” he said, adding that this is also the first time they’re producing tablets in their Greater Noida facility.

Industry experts see this move as part of a larger trend where tech giants are manufacturing more devices in India, thanks to government incentives and the country’s growing role as a global production hub.

With this shift, Indian consumers can expect better availability of OnePlus tablets and possibly more competitive pricing over time. For OnePlus, it’s another step toward becoming not just a popular smartphone brand, but a major player in India’s premium tablet space as well.
